It occured to me at 4:02 am last night...

as I was woken by the sounds of a crying girl for the third- and as it turns out not the last- time (which is actually an improvement over previous nights), that this is actually a form of torture in some countries- night after night after night of being woken just as you are settling into a good, restful sleep.
