Prophesizing my own downfall.

A few weeks ago I wrote a post in which I stated "I should just move my office into the playroom."

Well, I should be careful what I say. It turns out that statement was prophetic.

I didn't move my office to the playroom; no, I moved the playroom to my office.

I am not crazy; I am not motivated by some selfless (insane) desire to spend more time with my daughters while sabotaging what small possibility of productivity I might have working at home; no, we have just started the next round of remodeling. Round 1 was the master bedroom/ bathroom remodel, which took much longer then expected but ended up quite nicely. Round 2 is for the girls. We are turning their second floor spare-bedroom-turned playroom into a laundry room, enlarging their bathroom, and then turning the first floor laundry room into the playroom. It's musical rooms! Wednesday last week Greg told me that our guy Tony was starting Friday, which meant that Thursday night we had to evacuate the playroom. Juliette and Cosette were very excited; Juliette pitched right in and started moving all the toys out. Unfortunately, she only got them as far as the hallway, at which point she forgot step 2: put them in a different room.

The "different room" ended up being my office, which now looks like this:

See my desk in the left corner there? The good news is that the girls have rediscovered many many old toys; also, they play with them a lot more- as long as I am sitting at my desk 'working' that is. The end result will be worth it, though, as long as it takes as long as we think it should.

I think that playing musical rooms is a good trick for rediscovering old toys! Except for, you know, the fact that it is a huge PIA!
