She won't melt, for pete's sake.

She should have worn her snow pants.
Two days ago it was raining.  Again.  Still.  Buckets.  And it was gray and depressing out. And the girls were getting antsy, all cooped up in the house.  They'd apparently reached that previously non-existent wall of "TOO MUCH TV"  (Hey, I was preparing for a job interview, and they were not bothering me, so don't give me a hard time about it).

Juliette decides she wants to go outside and play.  "But you can't go outside, honey.  It's RAINING." I say.  Juliette thinks for a second then runs away from me and appears half a second later (its amazing how fast they can move when they are inspired) wearing her snowpants, jacket, and ski helmet. After protesting that she was NOT too hot, she ran outside and played happily for hours, complaining loudly when I called her back inside.

One day ago it was raining.  Again.  Still.  Barely; but it was gray and depressing out. And the girls were getting antsy, all cooped up in the house.  I had reached that point of deciding I was going to be a good mother (plus, my interview was over) and told them "THAT IS TOO MUCH TV!" and I turned it off, right in the middle of iCarly (oh, the tragedy!).

"Why don't you go outside and play?" I suggest, thinking they need to burn off some of their energy. Juliette looks at me like I am an insane person. "But mom, I can't go outside!  It's RAINING!"   Juliette drags her feet while I search for her rain boots (its amazing how slooooowly they can move when they are being defiant) and as I was pushing her out the door she was complaining loudly that she wanted to come back inside.
